Rafael Nadal spoke about whether Casper Ruud had beaten him in training at his academy.
They met for the first time in an official match in the Roland Garros final, with Nadal winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-0.
“I don’t remember. I’m sorry (smiling). I don’t know about training.
However, Casper is a great player. He’ll be 4th in the race. Very high up in the rankings, he’s been adding every year. In the past, he was only good on clay, but now he’s winning tournaments and competing for important titles on other surfaces.
I think that’s the most important thing in sports. He’s getting better all the time. And even though the finals were tough for him, I’m sure he and his team are very proud right now. He’s getting amazing results.
I’m very happy for him and his family. We know each other well. I know they’re good people. I would love for him to win this trophy one day.”- said Rafael Nadal.
