Jay Bothroyd has claimed that West Ham’s Declan Rice is going to make a move to Arsenal over Manchester United as the midfielder is a “London” boy.
According to Jay Bothroyd, a prominent English football pundit, Declan Rice is set to make a move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on The Transfer Show on Sky Sports, Bothroyd stated that he believes Rice, who is currently with West Ham United, is a “London boy” and would prefer a move to the Emirates over Manchester.
“Declan Rice? He’s coming Arsenal, isn’t he?!,” said Bothroyd. “He’s coming to Arsenal.
“I don’t think so (Rice ending up in Manchester). He’s a London boy. I think he wants to be in London. I think it will be Arsenal or Chelsea, for me.”
This comes as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly made the England international his top target for the upcoming transfer window.
The English international midfielder is said to be seeking Champions League football, and if he were to join Arsenal, he would not only be playing in the Champions League, but with a team that currently sits at the top of the Premier League table. However, it remains to be seen if this move will come to fruition and if Thomas Partey’s injury status will affect the team’s decision.
The 24 years old has been a loyal servant of the Hammers and has guided to quite a number of European competitions and is now faced with trying to help the London club avoid relegation.
