Manchester City star Phil Foden has claimed that Marcus Rashford will be ‘crucial’ for England after he scored twice against Wales on Tuesday in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Rashford had came on from the bench for the Three Lions against Iran and the USA but got a start from Gareth Southgate for what was a crucial game against Wales.

England needed to get a win or draw over Wales to finish as the winners of Group B and Marcus Rashford made that possible by scoring two stunning goals in the second half.

Phil Foden has agreed that the Manchester United forward would be crucial for England going forward in the ongoing Qatar World Cup, thanks to his current form.

Speaking after the convincing 3-0 win over Wales, the Manchester City attacking midfielder, who also scored a goal, said: “He’s unbelievable, isn’t he?

“We seen today how crucial he’s going to be for us in the next stages. We’re going to need him, for sure.”

Marcus Rashford‘s first goal against Wales was a free-kick and he celebrated the goal on his knees and his hands pointed to the sky.

When asked why he chose that goal celebration, the 25-year-old said: “I lost one of my friends a couple of days ago. He had quite a long battle with cancer.

“I’m pleased I scored for him, he was a big supporter and good friend of mine. He was someone who came into my life.”

England will continue their World Cup journey when they face Senegal in the round of 16 on December 4 after they finished as the leaders of Group B and Senegal rounded the group stage as the runners-up of Group B behind the Netherlands, who will take on the USA in the round of 16.
