Pep Guardiola has revealed an advantage Manchester City have over their Champions League rivals, Borussia Dortmund.
Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji have joined the Citizens from Dortmund this summer.
Dortmund players are well known of the duo’s capabilities. On the other hand, the City newcomers know their former teammates than anyone at Etihad. Guardiola believes this fact could be an advantage for his team when they face the Bundesliga club on Wednesday.
“They [Dortmund] know these players [Haaland, Akanji] better than I know their players. They can have a benefit. But also, they [City’s players] know the [Dortmund] players better as well, so maybe that can work for us,” he said.
“The players know about football, they know what they are looking for, they know them [opposition players] better than me. I can watch a thousand million videos and tapes on games, but they know them better than me.”
