Manchester United will host Manchester City at Old Trafford this weekend and Pep Guardiola has already started firing warnings.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed that he has ‘ridiculous’ thoughts against Manchester United this weekend at Old Trafford.
Both Manchester clubs are back in Premier League action this weekend with a lot at stake. City need a win over Man United to cut the gap behind Arsenal, who will face Tottenham later, to two points and Man United need a win to slash the points behind 2nd-placed Man City to two points.
The last time both clubs met, Manchester City won the fixture 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium but a lot has happened since then.
Manchester United have won their last nine home matches across all competitions including the comfortable 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night.
City will face Southampton on Wednesday night away from home in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, leaving them 24 hours of rest behind Man United.
Pep Guardiola would have preferred his side to have the same hours of rest as United but still maintained he has different ideas that would help his side side Manchester United.
“I would like to arrive against Man United with the average of minutes in the legs of the players quite similar because I have a few ideas, thoughts, ridiculous ones against United,” Guardiola said after the Southampton game.
