Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that John Stones won’t take part in the Manchester derby this weekend due to an injury.
Manchester United may have received a boost in their attempt to beat Manchester City after Pep Guardiola confirmed that John Stones will miss the game.
Stones has missed Man City’s last two matches due to an injury he suffered whilst in training. In his absence, City won Chelsea 4-0 in the FA Cup but lost 2-0 to Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
Ahead of the Manchester derby, Guardiola confirmed Stones’ absence due to an injury and the England international is set to remain with Ruben Dias on the sickbed.
However, Manchester City have the likes of Akanji and Aymeric Laporte who can fill their shoes at the heart of defence.
Manchester United will be without the likes of Donny van de Beek, Jadon Sancho and Diogo Dalot due to injury issues and personal reasons.
