Pep Guardiola has spoken out on Joao Cancelo as he missed Community Shield amid Barcelona links.

Joao Cancelo’s future had been the subject of talk as the Manchester City defender spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
He has now been linked with a move to Barcelona and amid the transfer talks, Cancelo missed City’s game against Arsenal in Community Shield.
The Gunners faced City in the Community Shield on Sunday, August 6 and celebrated a victory on penalties with a 4-1 score as the full time ended in a 1-1 draw.
“He has to go home with the family, and was not here…” Guardiola said on his absence.
