Mikel Arteta’s team has been fantastic in the first half of the season as Arsenal moved five points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

However Patrice Evra believes that Arsenal needs to buy “three strong players in January To avoid being “done” if William Saliba gets injured.”

Arsenal have lost their star striker Gabriel Jesus to injury, and according to former Manchester United defender Evra, if Saliba suffered the same fate, they would be “done.”

Before the World Cup break, Saliba was one of Arsenal’s top players. His performance earned him a spot in the France squad for Qatar, though he only made one appearance.

Speaking to Betfair Evra said ”

It’s a thrilling Premier League and it’s been an exciting start, but we have no idea who will win,”.

The three best teams currently, in my opinion, are Manchester City, Newcastle, and Arsenal. We still don’t know who will win, but if there is one thing I can promise you as a former Manchester United player, it is that I truly want Arsenal to win in the end.

The Premier League is a marathon, not a sprint. Even though I simply want to keep a positive mindset for Arsenal, I am concerned about the strength of the team.

I can’t wait to find out who they will purchase in January. However, as Sir Alex Ferguson used to do, you need to buy players when you’re at the top, not when your team is in trouble.

Imagine the effect an injury to William Saliba would have on the team, they would be would be finished. Hence the need to sign a second center-back.

The opportunity for the club’s owner to support Arteta is significant. I have no doubt that Arteta and the other players believe that Arsenal will win the league, but they also need some backing.
