French side PSG are reportedly eyeing a move for Portuguese left back Nuno Tavares.
In an ambitious bid to bolster their summer transfer budget, Arsenal is actively looking to offload players in the coming weeks. The North London club’s latest transfer endeavor seems to have attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), with Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares emerging as a potential target to bolster PSG’s ranks, particularly as Juan Bernat’s replacement.
Tavares, who was acquired from Benfica for a reported fee of €8 million, has spent the past season on loan at Marseille. Despite glimpses of potential during his loan spell, his time on the pitch for Arsenal also highlighted certain deficiencies. Consequently, he has been excluded from the team’s US tour, indicating a surplus in the left-back position, further evidenced by reported tensions with manager Mikel Arteta.
PSG finds themselves in a delicate situation regarding the left-back position, considering the uncertainty surrounding Juan Bernat’s future at the club.
In response, they have turned their focus to Nuno Tavares as a prospective contender, who would provide healthy competition for Nuno Mendes.
