OFFICIAL: Steven Bergwijn leaves Premier League to return to Eredivisie

Bergwijn has signed a contract with the Dutch side, and it will run for five seasons.

Ajax have announced the signing of Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur for a fixed transfer fee of €31.25 mln.

The 24-years old player has penned a five-year deal, running until the summer of 2027.

It is indicative of Steven’s ambition that he chose to make the step to Ajax. He is a player with many qualities. He has enormous drive and is also very goal-oriented. Of course, I am happy that we were able to sign him, he adds new quality to our team“, – said head coach Alfred Schreuder to Ajax’s official website.

Steven, who played for Ajax at the youth level, before leaving for Tottenham previously played for the Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
