Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester United’s midfielder Scott McTominay in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a move for Manchester United’s Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay, in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Magpies’ interest in the 26-year-old dates back to the winter transfer window, but they were unable to strike a deal with the Red Devils at the time.
According to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano , Newcastle’s pursuit of McTominay is set to continue as they aim to reinforce their midfield. Romano also revealed that Eddie Howe, the current manager of Newcastle, is a fan of the Scottish international.
Despite McTominay’s deep-rooted ties with Manchester United, having come through their youth ranks, the midfielder is believed to be open to the prospect of a move to St. James’ Park. The Scottish midfielder has made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils since his promotion to the first team in 2017.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle will be successful in their attempts to land McTominay, as Manchester United rejected the Magpies’ advances in the winter transfer window.
