As the Arsenal squad prepares for their pivotal clash against Manchester City on Wednesday, football expert Shaka Hislop has issued a bold recommendation to manager Mikel Arteta.

In light of the recent draw against Brentford and City’s dominant win over Aston Villa, which has cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to just three points, the stakes are high for the Gunners.

Hislop believes that it is time for Artetta to make a change in his starting lineup, suggesting that Gabriel Martinelli be dropped in favor of Leandro Trossard. Although Martinelli has started every Premier League match this season, he has failed to score in seven consecutive games and his form has not been as electrifying as in previous months. On the other hand, Trossard has made an impact as a substitute and recently scored his first goal for the club, providing fresh energy and a scoring threat.

“When he has come on, Leandro Trossard has had an impact,” stated Hislop in an ESPN interview. “So if you’re Arteta, I think the time is right to think about starting Trossard. Martinelli is quick and defenses have to adjust to his pace, but he hasn’t had much impact recently and has been struggling a bit. Given Trossard’s form and his goal, it seems like the logical choice to play him from the start.”

As the team faces a crucial test against the reigning champions, it remains to be seen if Arteta will heed Hislop’s advice and shake up his starting lineup. Regardless, one thing is clear: the pressure is on for the Gunners to secure a crucial win and keep their title hopes alive.
