Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has acknowledged the possibility of a contract renewal for William Saliba.
The Gunners are currently having a strong season, sitting in second place in the Premier League. It is logical for the club to aim to retain their current squad to maintain their high performance and potentially compete for more titles.
Saliba, who returned to Arsenal after a loan spell at Marseille, has impressed as a defender and has become an integral part of the team. Therefore, the club are eager to secure his long-term future at the Emirates.
Arteta admitted that they are actively working towards finding a satisfactory solution in reaching an agreement with the 22-year-old player as he spoke ahead of the Premier League game vs Nottingham Forest.
“We are trying. We are having conversations and we are trying to maintain the talent we have at the club. These things take time,” the manager said.
