Mikel Arteta has opened up on Arsenal’s chances to win Europa League after the club’s game with Sporting.
Gunners played a 2 – 2 draw with the Portuguese side in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
William Saliba scored to give his side the lead in the 22nd minute of the clash, while the opponents managed to make a comeback until the final whistle.
After the game, Arteta was asked about his team’s chances to win the European competition as the manager admitted they are not going to give up on the title despite the latest result.
“…In this competition if you want to go through, you’re going to have to go through difficult moments. We knew that, we are alive and everything is still to play for at the Emirates. Hopefully we play better and deserve to win the game,” the manager said after Thursday’s clash, via Football London.
