Arsenal have once again been linked to long term target Wilfred Zaha as his contract with Crystal Palace is set to expire.
Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is reportedly back on Arsenal’s radar, as the Gunners continue to search for reinforcements ahead of next season. The Ivory Coast international was a target for Arsenal back in 2019, but the move failed to materialize after Palace demanded a hefty transfer fee. Instead, Arsenal broke their transfer record to bring in Nicolas Pepe for £72 million.
According to French outlet Footmercato, Arsenal are among a host of clubs interested in Zaha, who will be available on a free transfer when his contract at Selhurst Park expires in just over two months. However, it is unclear whether Arsenal would be willing to meet Zaha’s wage demands, with the 28-year-old reportedly earning around £130,000 per week at Palace.
Zaha’s impressive performances for Palace have attracted interest from several European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
Nevertheless, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is believed to be a long-time admirer of Zaha’s talents and may be tempted to make a move for the player, particularly if he can be acquired for a cut-price deal. Whether or not Arsenal can convince Zaha to join the club, however, remains to be seen.
