Mikel Arteta has confirmed that William Saliba won’t be able to play in Arsenal’s game against West Ham on Sunday.
Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta confirmed that William Saliba won’t be able to feature in the Gunners’ much-awaited Premier League clash against West Ham United on Sunday.
The young French defender has been out of action since suffering an injury during Arsenal’s Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon last month. He has subsequently missed the last three fixtures for the North London club, which has raised concerns among the Arsenal faithful regarding his fitness and availability for future games.
Arteta addressed these concerns during a recent press conference where he gave an update on Saliba’s condition. While the Spanish coach remained optimistic, he was unable to provide a wholly positive update, admitting that the defender’s continued absence from training has been a source of concern.
“He is evolving well, and we are hopeful we are going to have him available in the next few weeks,” Arteta said of Saliba.
Arsenal fans will hope to see the talented centre-back return to action soon, as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table. However, it seems that they will have to wait a bit longer before seeing Saliba in action again.
