Mikel Arteta has now revealed they would like to extend William Saliba’s contract at Arsenal.
Gunners are set to face Brighton in the Premier League on December 31, 2022. Ahead of the meeting, Arteta met the media to share the latest news.
Saliba has established himself as a key player in Arsenal squad, and Arteta was asked about the player’s possible long-term stay at the Emirates Stadium.
“We have a few of those that we are willing to extend the contract. Willy is one of them,” the manager said, via Football London.
“I think he’s shown in the months that he’s been with us the quality and the personality he has to play at the level that we want. We are trying to do that because we know he can be a really important part of our plans.”
