Depay will be willing to leave Barcelona as a free agent this January with Liverpool and Manchester United eyeing up a move.
Memphis Depay has seen his game time at Spotify Nou Camp drastically hitting a new low since the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.
Although Barcelona decided on keeping Depay but with his game time just 2 La Liga appearances since the start of the new season, the Dutch man will now consider an exit.
The 28-year-old still has a contract with Barcelona until 2023 but would push for that to be terminated by January so he could leave on a free transfer.
Xavi’s arrival has introduced hell to Depay who netted 12 goals in 28 La Liga games last season after joining from Lyon.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Depay demands to leave for free on January as he perceived it’s now his turn to benefit from the transfer move.
The player believes it was Barcelona who benefited the last time by signing him for free a year and half ago as his demands now put several clubs on alert.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring the situation with the Red Devils looking for a reunion but considering how they have treated aged attackers in the past, it’s unlikely Depay will risk another spell at the club.
Chelsea are another side likely to open talks for Depay after seeing the player flourish alongside Aubameyang at Barcelona but with the Gabonese currently struggling, they could now recruit Depay.
