Marcus Rashford received loads of plaudits after scoring one of the best goals of the season so far against Burnley on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup.

Manchester United reached the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup following a comfortable 2-0 win over the Clarets at Old Trafford.

Christian Eriksen scored the opener from a close-range in the first half and after the interval, Marcus Rashford scored United’s second goal after a brilliant individual effort.

Speaking about his goal, the England international told Sky Sports: “The gap just appeared so I tried to go for it, and thankfully, it came off.”

On Eriksen’s opener, Rashford added: “It [the first goal] was like clockwork. “It was obviously fun to be back out there, and I think the lads had fun today.”

Marcus Rashford played on the right wing against Burnley and put out a man of the match performance.

Speaking about his form, the 25-year-old said: “It’s always good to come back, tough game but it’s good to get the win and go into the next round.

“I’m always trying to improve, to be effective whatever side I’m playing from or through the middle.”
