Manuel Akanji received a double yellow card against Brighton on Saturday for the fall on Ansu Fati.

He will miss Manchester City’s upcoming game against Manchester United on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Speaking on his red card, Akanji said: “I didn’t think it was even a foul… he took two steps and then went down…

“Really frustrated… I touched him a little bit on the hip but let go after less than a second… Really disappointed. I wanted to play in the derby.”

City prepare to face Young Boys in the Champions League group stage game on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
