Manchester United is reportedly on the lookout for fresh reinforcements to bolster their central defensive department, with Goncalo Inacio emerging as one of their top targets, according to sources cited by Record .

As things stand, the Red Devils boast the services of several competent central defenders, including the likes of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, and Harry Maguire. Nevertheless, it appears that the Old Trafford outfit is keen on adding further depth and quality to their defensive ranks, with Inacio believed to be high on their wishlist.

Notably, Manchester United currently only has one left-footed central defender in their squad in the form of Martinez, although Luke Shaw has demonstrated his versatility by stepping into the role with aplomb in the absence of the Argentine.

However, manager Erik ten Hag is said to be keen on having another specialist left-footer at his disposal to provide added tactical flexibility and cover.
