Newcastle United have reportedly made enquiries on signing Scott McTominay from Manchester United but the Red Devils are not ready to let him leave, according to reports.

The Magpies have developed under Eddie Howe into a formidable side and are currently challenging for a place in the top four in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle United are in the 3rd position in log and are keen on improving their squad this month to advance their chances of securing a place in the Champions League or Europa League next season.

According to
, Eddie Howe wants Scott McTominay at St James’ Park but Manchester United made it clear that they want to keep him at Old Trafford.

McTominay’s playing time has thwarted following the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid over the summer but Ten Hag has promised his squad that they will have time to impress.

The Scotland international missed United’s game against Wolves due to illness and was an unused substitute against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
