Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho is set to be back at training ahead of the club’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa, Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
The Red Devils played a 2 – 2 draw with Tottenham in midweek to share points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jadon Sancho’s and Marcu Rashford’s goals were not enough to celebrate a victory over North Londoners.
United squad will now be heading back to Ols Trafford to host Unai Emery’s Aston Villa as they continue their push for the Premier League top-four finish.
In his press conference, Ten Hag shared the latest team news, including Garnacho’s return to training on Friday following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. The youngster’s reunion with the first team will be a welcome boost ahead of the crucial match against Aston Villa.
“Yes. He will return tomorrow in the team training part and then we have to see when he can return totally in the team training and then back into games,” Ten Hag said, via Manchester United’s official website.
In further good news for United, they announced on Friday that Garnacho has signed a contract extension, prolonging his stay at the club until 2028.
