In a significant development tonight, reputable sources from L’equipe suggest that Manchester United is edging closer to securing the services of the highly sought-after French talent. The promising defender, Disasi, has reportedly expressed his desire to join the Red Devils, further fueling speculation surrounding the potential transfer.

While formal negotiations between the two clubs are yet to commence, Monaco, the player’s current club, is believed to be seeking a transfer fee in the range of €40m to €50m. With Manchester United’s substantial financial resources, meeting this valuation is expected to pose no obstacle for the English giants.

Disasi’s steady rise in the footballing sphere has been remarkable since his arrival at Monaco from Reims three years ago. The 23-year-old has established himself as a mainstay in the squad, exemplified by his unwavering presence in all 38 league matches during the recently concluded season. Notably, he contributed three crucial goals and provided three assists, showcasing his ability to impact matches at both ends of the pitch.

Such impressive performances did not go unnoticed, as Disasi earned a late call-up to the French national team for the 2022 World Cup, filling in for the injured Presnel Kimpembe. The defender made three appearances during the tournament, including a notable outing in the final against Argentina.

In light of Monaco’s disappointing 6th-place finish and their subsequent absence from European competitions, the departure of Disasi has been anticipated for several months. The club’s hierarchy, keen to balance the books, is also bracing for the potential exit of fellow international Youssouf Fofana. These departures have become a pressing priority, given the financial implications of missing out on European football.
