According to Teddy Sheringham, Ronaldo’s lack of respect for the current Manchester United boss means his departure is now certain.

In a recent interview, Ronaldo disclosed that he believes some persons including the manager wants him out of Manchester United.

Former United hero, Teddy Sheringham believes Ronaldo has actually done the worst he could at the club and only an exit is certain for him now.

‘No chance. absolutely no chance. He cannot play for Manchester United again, not after this and it sounds like there’s more to come,’ Sheringham told talkSPORT.

‘You cannot attack your football club and expect everything to be hunky dory next week when you come back from the World Cup, absolutely no chance.

‘He says he doesn’t respect Ten Hag, there’s the problem straight away, that’s the main issue,’ said the former United striker. ‘If you don’t have respect for the manager it doesn’t matter what else you do.

‘I’m very surprised,’ added Sheringham. ‘Obviously Cristiano has got his own way of thinking. But when you join a football club, the football people want you to produce your best football moments, that’s all it is really.

‘I’d be very surprised if he’s being forced out. Disrespected, I don’t know. If you’re still performing at the highest level, people respect you.

‘If you’re doing things in and around the football club that you shouldn’t be, like walking off down the tunnel when you should be part of the team, that’s when people lose respect for you. I think it works hand in hand.

‘You’ve got to realize yourself that he’s not 29 anymore, he’s past his best and you have to understand that you’re going to be used sparingly.

‘He wants to be the main man, I know he’s fit and looks great, but it comes to all of us at some stage, that you’re past your best.’
