Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is currently sidelined with an injury.

Shaw suffered a muscle injury against Luton Town and was replaced at halftime during the 2-1 win. The 28-year-old was replaced in their previous Premier League game as well when United faced Aston Villa.

Now United have shared a statement and confirmed he will be out “for an extended period”.

The statement reads: “Luke Shaw has sustained a muscle injury and will be out for an extended period.

“Further assessment is still needed to determine the severity but we expect him to be absent for a few months.”

Shaw’s 2023/24 season has been hauled with injuries and his participation in EURO 2024 is a doubt now.
