According to the Daily Mail, the Catalans want about €75 million in compensation for the football player’s departure. Manchester United, in turn, is not ready to pay that much for the Dutchman, because this is a large part of the Red Devils’ transfer budget for the summer.

Manchester United’s new head coach Eric ten Hag has been reportedly interested in signing De Jong. They worked together at Ajax Amsterdam.

Frenkie de Jong moved to the Spanish team from Ajax in 2019. The Dutch midfielder has made 46 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists. The midfielder has been called up to the Netherlands national team since 2018.
