Manchester United are considering the possibility of getting Walker-Peters from Southampton.
According to journalist Alex Crook, Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters. The 25-year-old, who is valued at €25m by Transfermarkt, is primarily a right-back but has also played in other positions this season. Walker-Peters joined the Saints in 2020 after leaving Tottenham and has since made 99 appearances for the club across all competitions. He shares the same agency as Manchester United defender Raphael Varane.
Crook claims that Walker-Peters is pushing for a move away from St. Mary’s, with United and Premier League rivals Chelsea both reportedly circling a potential transfer.
At the moment, United have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as senior right-back options, so one of the two would need to depart if Walker-Peters were to join.
However, Wan-Bissaka has featured heavily for the club since the World Cup, making a move for Walker-Peters an intriguing possibility. This transfer rumor is definitely worth keeping an eye on as the transfer window progresses.
