Manchester United is reportedly eyeing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a potential target for the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Seth .

United signed Wout Weghorst on a six-month loan deal from Burnley to bolster their attacking options. However, the Dutchman is only a temporary solution, and the club is now said to be looking for a long-term striker to add to their ranks.

Sources have suggested that the Red Devils are planning to strengthen their attacking department with the acquisition of a new prolific goal-scorer at the end of the season. Speaking to GiveMeSport , Sheth confirmed that United is interested in Osimhen and would “definitely” pursue the Nigerian if he becomes available this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether United will be able to secure Osimhen’s services, as his transfer may depend on whether the club is taken over by a wealthy owner before the summer transfer window. According to Sheth, “that takeover and the finances within that club are going to hold a big key in whether they’d be able to get someone like Osimhen or not.”

Despite United’s interest, the club could face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, who are also reportedly eyeing a move for Osimhen this summer. The Blues are said to be “confident” of luring the forward to Stamford Bridge, which could make the transfer a tricky proposition for the Manchester club.
