The club, under the management of Erik ten Hag, is actively seeking to reinforce its attacking lineup, particularly in the forward positions.

Known for his ability to operate anywhere across the front three, Malen’s versatility is seen as a valuable asset for the Red Devils. This strategic advantage is crucial for the manager, who is facing the impending departures of Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho from Old Trafford in 2024. These anticipated exits will open up two positions in Manchester United’s squad, prompting the need for new talent.

In particular, there is a demand for a natural number nine, and Donyell Malen emerges as a promising candidate for this role. The club, closely following the developments of the Dutch winger, is keen on securing his services to address their attacking needs. According to reports by Ekrem Konur, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho’s departures create an opportunity for Manchester United to reshape their forward line, with Malen being a prime target.

Donyell Malen made the switch to Borussia Dortmund from PSV in 2021, and despite a gradual adaptation to German football, the 24-year-old has evolved into a key player for Edin Terzic’s side.

His impressive performance last season included nine goals and seven assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances, contributing significantly to Dortmund’s title push. In the current campaign, Malen has continued to make an impact with four goals.
