Cristiano Ronaldo walked down the tunnel before the final whistle and this isn’t going down well with the manager who has promised to deal with the issue on Thursday.

The Portuguese attacker sat on the bench as Manchester United produced a 2-0 victory against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo expected an off-sub appearance for United last night but sadly Erik ten Hag had other plans which still ended up in their favor but clearly not going down well with Ronaldo.

The five-time Balon d’Or winner has been reduced to just 8 league appearances so far this season of which a chunk of it has been off the bench.

Despite ending breaking his goal-drought, Ronaldo seem yet to impress Erik ten Hag who prefers mostly leaving him out on the bench.

Things could take further twist for both the manager and the player after Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch before the final whistle.

During an interview ahead of Chelsea the game, Erik ten Hag who didn’t like the attitude responded to a question about Ronaldo’s attitude.

“I am the manager, I am responsible for the culture here and I have to set standards and values and I have to control them. In the team, we have values and standards and I have to control that.”

“After [Ronaldo left early against Rayo] Vallecano, I told him it was unacceptable but not him everyone, this is the second time, there are consequences. We miss him tomorrow.”

“It’s a miss for the squad but it’s important for the attitude and mentality of the group and now we have to focus on Chelsea as that is important.”

“He [Ronaldo] remains an important player in the squad.”

“It will have a [time for] reflection for him, but also for everyone else, I said at the start of the season, next time there have to be consequences otherwise when you are living together and playing together.”
