Manchester City have expressed interest in signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the newly crowned Champions League winners have identified Gvardiol as a primary target, alongside Mateo Kovacic.
Despite already possessing a strong defense, manager Pep Guardiola aims to further strengthen his squad for the upcoming season, with the Croatia international high on his priority list.
Gvardiol, aged 21, joined RB Leipzig in 2021 after progressing through the ranks at Dinamo Zagreb. His impressive performances in both domestic and Champions League matches have caught the attention of several clubs.
Although the player is under contract until 2027, which includes a release clause of approximately £100 million, he reportedly desires a move to the Premier League this summer.
However, sources suggest that Leipzig will only part ways with their star defender for a substantial transfer fee, potentially making him the most expensive center-back in football history.
