Manchester City’s contract negotiations with their star player, Kevin De Bruyne, are set to be postponed until the following year. This strategic move is a response to De Bruyne’s ongoing recovery from a persistent hamstring injury that has plagued him since the previous season’s Champions League final.

Unfortunately, the 32-year-old midfielder suffered a setback by reaggravating the injury during Manchester City’s inaugural Premier League match against Burnley.

Sources close to the club, as reported by the Daily Star , confirm that De Bruyne is not expected to make his return to the pitch until early next year. Consequently, the reigning Premier League champions have opted to delay discussions regarding a new contract for the influential player.

It is worth noting that Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is fervently eager to retain De Bruyne within his squad, which has seen considerable success. Guardiola has expressed his approval of the club offering De Bruyne a two-year contract extension.

At present, Kevin De Bruyne remains under contract with Manchester City until 2025 and holds the distinction of being the highest-earning player in the Premier League. The 32-year-old’s contributions to Guardiola’s tactics have been immense, with an impressive record of 358 appearances for the Manchester club, during which he has scored 96 goals and provided a remarkable 153 assists.
