Liverpool will travel to the Etihad without the services of Spainish midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
In a highly-anticipated clash that could potentially impact both the title race and the battle for the top four, Liverpool will travel to face Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday.
While City currently sit eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, with a game in hand, a victory against Liverpool could see them narrow that gap to just five points.
In contrast, Liverpool are currently seven points adrift of the Champions League places and will be eager to secure a positive result, especially with upcoming matches against Chelsea and Arsenal.
Unfortunately for the Reds, they will be without the services of midfielder Thiago Alcantara for the crucial fixture. The Spanish international has been unable to fully recover from a hip flexor injury that he sustained in Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves back in February.
Despite initial reports suggesting he would be able to return to first-team action following the international break, Thiago has yet to resume full training and is expected to be unavailable for the City clash.
