Liverpool Football Club is reportedly gearing up to make a significant move in the market. The Reds have set their sights on talented Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, who has also been on the radar of fellow Premier League outfit Arsenal.

Despite Southampton’s unfortunate relegation last season, Lavia’s performances stood out, catching the attention of several top clubs. Esteemed journalist Fabrizio Romano highlighted the midfielder’s potential suitors in his recent column on Caught Offside .

Adding fuel to the fire, talkSPORT has now reported that Liverpool is actively preparing a bid for the 19-year-old prodigy. Southampton values Lavia at an estimated £50 million, signaling the youngster’s immense potential and the club’s desire to retain him.

Romano also indicated that Arsenal’s primary focus lies in securing the services of Declan Rice, possibly opening up an opportunity for Liverpool to assert their dominance in the pursuit of Lavia. Jurgen Klopp’s side is eager to bolster their midfield options, and the Southampton starlet could be an ideal addition alongside the recent acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The potential arrival of Lavia at Anfield would inject fresh talent into Liverpool’s midfield, given the departures of seasoned players such as James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita at the conclusion of last season. With ambitions of reclaiming a top-four finish after narrowly missing out last term, Liverpool recognized the need for a comprehensive rebuilding process, and their summer transfer activities have commenced on a promising note.
