Former New Jersey defenseman Ken Daneyko has shared his opinion on Mikhail Sergachev.
The 24-year-old Russian extended his contract with Tampa for eight years.
He’s one of those young guys you can build a team around. I know the great Victor Hedman already plays for Tampa and his resume speaks for itself.
However, they have a young guy with 300+ games under his belt already. I like his maturity and understanding of the game, something many young defenders don’t have. This guy just knows hockey.
I put him in the top 10 defensemen in the NHL. Some people look at me sideways because of the main indicator for everyone’s points. Sergachev will improve in that aspect. But he’s improving his game overall. He’s tough, he skates great. He can do almost anything, said the analyst.
