On January 26 it was confirmed that Kalvin Phillips is joining West Ham on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the season.

Phillips signed for City in the summer of 2022 and has been struggling with getting minutes for the club.

Following his move to the Hammers, Phillips spoke out on West Ham and Ghana national team star Mohammed Kudus.

“I’m just thrilled to get started. I’m aware of the high quality within the team I’m joining. When you look at players like Lucas Paquetá and Mohammed Kudus, as well as the entire squad, it’s easy to feel excited,” said Phillips.

Kudus made 2 appearances in AFCON for Ghana and scored 2 goals, however, their tournament got cut short as they failed to qualify from group stage.

For West Ham, Kudus has made 27 appearances in which he has scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists.
