Kalvin Phillips has made a return from injury just in time for the World Cup 2022 and will be waiting for Gareth Southgate’s announcement of the England squad.
Phillips suffered a shoulder injury and had to undergo surgery but he has now made his return. The Manchester City star got some minutes against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third-round win on Wednesday.
With the World Cup around the corner, Phillips will be hoping to find his name in Gareth Southgate’s England squad that will be announced today, November 10.
Speaking following the win over Chelsea, the City star said: “I’m back fit now so hopefully I’ve got a chance.”
England’s first World Cup game is against Iran on Monday, November 21. The Three Lions are in the same group as Iran, USA and Wales.
