Kai Havertz, the recent addition to the Gunners’ squad, has featured in all five matches this season, encompassing both the Community Shield and the Premier League. However, much to the chagrin of the Arsenal faithful, the German midfielder is yet to make his mark in terms of goals or assists.

As the international break looms large, Arsenal’s next challenge awaits them on Sunday, September 17, against Everton. Before that pivotal encounter, Havertz has international obligations with Germany, facing formidable opponents in Japan and France.

Speaking at a press conference while on international duty, he has been asked about the criticism he has been facing. His response is:

“Sure, things like that keep you busy.

“But I’ve often had a phase and that you often only see the negative. It’s not the first club where I’m starting over.

“Of course, you want to be successful as quickly as possible, but I know that there are phases like that. I try to approach it in a relaxed manner.”

Kai Havertz’s move from Chelsea to Arsenal during the summer transfer window raised eyebrows across the footballing world. The high-profile transfer, worth up to £65 million, prompted questions regarding his potential to elevate his new team’s performance and how he would seamlessly fit into their setup.

Arsenal, under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, has tinkered with its formation to accommodate Havertz’s talent, though the results have been mixed thus far. The German midfielder, who amassed 19 Premier League goals during his three-season stint with Chelsea, has yet to open his goal-scoring account for the Gunners, placing him under intense scrutiny due to the hefty price tag associated with his transfer.
