Jurgen Klopp has now admitted Cody Gakpo will not be able to play for Liverpool until the FA Cup clash with Wolves.
The Reds secured the signing of the Netherlands international just a few days ago. The player was eager to make a move o Anfield amid Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota’s injuries.
Gakpo will be officially be a Liverpool player since January due to the transfer window rules.
In the pre-match conference ahead of Leicester City clash, Klopp was asked about the new signing’s potential debut date, to which he replied:
“There might be a chance for Brentford but not really. January 1 is a Bank Holiday but the papers some other people have to sign would have to be done at 12pm on the second, and I’m not too positive that will happen. We will not rush it anyway.
“There might be a chance (for him to play) on the second but the seventh (against Wolves) is for me the first real possible date,” the manager added.
