Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a HUGE injury blow for Liverpool following Newcastle win.
Liverpool faced Newcastle on January 1st and celebrated a 4-2 win as they go top of the league table.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for the Reds, while Alexander Isak equalised minutes later in the second half.
Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo put Liveprool ahead at the 74th and 78th minutes, while Sven Botman scored Newcastle’s second goal.
Salah, converted a penalty and by scoring a double put the end to the game as the Reds celebrated a 4-2 win.
FOllowing the game, Jurgen Klopp provided an injury update on Dominik Szoboszlai, who suffered a hamstring injury during the game.
“Dominik Szoboszlai with a hamstring, we hope not too serious,” Klopp told BBC Sport.
“Other players felt it as well. It’s super intense. But there’s no alternative if you want to win football games.”
Losing Szoboszlai would be a huge blow as the Reds will also lose Mohamed Salah due to his involvment in Africa Cup of Nations.
