Real Madrid is reportedly set to make a sensational signing this summer, as they close in on securing the services of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The latest development was confirmed by MARCA journalist Jose Felix Diaz, who stated that the Spanish giants have been working tirelessly to secure the signature of the highly-rated English international for months.

After operating in the shadows, Real Madrid have emerged as the front-runners for Bellingham’s signature, with Liverpool and Manchester City slowly withdrawing their interest. It appears that the Los Blancos have stolen a march on their rivals, and are now on the verge of completing a major coup.

The Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also corroborated these reports, confirming that a deal is in the works. As for Dortmund, the Bundesliga outfit has seemingly accepted the fact that they will lose their prized asset in the upcoming season.

While they had initially set a staggering asking price of €140 million for Bellingham, Madrid is expected to acquire his services for a lower fee, reportedly between €100 and €120 million.

If Real Madrid manages to complete this high-profile transfer, it will undoubtedly be a statement of intent from the Spanish giants
