Manchester United receive a transfer blow after it was reported that Chelsea are on the verge of signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
According to legit sources, Chelsea have won the race to sign Joao Felix on a six-month loan deal from Atletico Madrid, beating the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.
Man United obviously wanted a forward this month as a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated in November.
However, United pulled out of the race after they failed to meet Atletico Madrid’s reported £13million demands for Felix’s loan fee.
Arsenal were said to be interested in the Portugal international but according to the Atheltic’s reporter David Ornstein, Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement to sign Joao Felix from the La Liga club this month.
The journalist confirmed that Manchester United and Arsenal tried to sign the forward to bolster their attacking options but failed in their attempts.
Felix also rejected the chance to move to either United or Arsenal as he was keen on Chelsea after being attracted by the Blues’ project.
