Chelsea sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge and Maximilian Kilman believes it was a tough result to take, given the preparations they had heading into the game.

Kai Havertz scored on the stroke of half-time to hand the Blues a well-deserved lead before the break, although many would argue Graham Potter’s side would have scored earlier in the game, given the chances they failed to convert.

In the second half, the Londoners finished off their interesting job over Wolves, who have now recorded three defeats in a row, following goals from Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic.

The Wanderers are looking for a permanent manager following the sacking of Bruno Lage but Kilman is positive that Wolves can still find stability and start winning games again.

Speaking about the defeat, he told Wolves official website: “It was tough to take. Obviously losing the manager and then working with our new coaches this week has been tough, but we played some good football and there were times when we could threaten them, but we didn’t, so, unfortunately, we came away with the defeat today.

“Of course, it’s tough because this is our third loss in a row. We know it’s been tough, but we know we need to bounce back into the next game and then keep on going and I’m sure we will be alright.

“I felt that if we could have come into half-time at 0-0 then I think we could have really pushed on in the second half, but, unfortunately, we conceded late and it was hard to push on from there.”

Being 1-0 down at half-time, it’s expected Wolves acting manager would have some encouraging words to his players and Kilman has revealed what was said at the break.

“Just to keep going, be a bit more threatening, put more bodies forward and break through lines, which we did at times. But then, unfortunately, they got another goal and that made it difficult from there,” the 25-year-old defender said when asked what was said during half-time break.

“It was very tough, but it wasn’t our day today. It was tough to take, but we need to go again.”
