Marcus Rashford feels ‘really happy’ after England booked their place in the Qatar World Cup round of 16 after a convincing win over Wales.

The Three Lions needed to avoid a defeat to Wales to advance to the next round of the World Cup but they went ahead and won 3-0 over Wales.

Marcus Rashford played a huge role in England’s run to the round of 16 after he came on in the second half and scored a goal to help the Three Lions beat Iran 6-2. He was also involved as England were held to a frustrating goalless draw by the USA.

The Manchester United forward started on the left-wing and scored twice including a free-kick to take his country through to the next round as the winners of Group B.

England will face the runners-up of Group A, Senegal, in the round of 16 on December 4 and the United academy graduate has admitted that games as this are what he really loves playing.

Speaking to BBC after the game, the 25-year-old said: “Moments like this – this is what I play football for. The biggest moments, the best moments, and I’m really happy. I’m happy that we’re going through to the next round of the tournament.”
