O’Neal responded to the former NBA player’s criticism.

I know there’s no disrespect, just concern, and best wishes. I heard you, Big Shot, but you know who raised me. I never give up. I was always taught that you have to achieve something, and make an effort. I’m moving in the right direction.

As I said, I heard you. You’ll see, Shareef tweeted.

Shareef played four games in the NBA Summer League for the Lakers, averaging 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes on the court. The forward will continue his career inThe NBA G League
