Ilkay Gundogan has broken the silence on Manchester City’s current problems following the club’s loss to Southampton.
The Citizens faced a 2 – 0 defeat to the Saints in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, with Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo scoring the winning goals for their team.
City’s latest form have seen them losing points in the Premier League as well. They are currently sitting in 2bd place in the league table, five points behind the leaders Arsenal.
Gundogan reacted to his team’s latest loss to Southampton and opened up on the squad’s problems.
“We’ve won games but I feel something is missing, something’s off. At the minute, there’s a special recipe missing; performances, the desire, and hunger is not as in recent years. Hopefully it [the Southampton loss] was the right wake up call,” the player said.
