Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reacted to his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Old Trafford by mutual agreement.

Man United and Ronaldo came to an agreement this week to terminate whatever ties both parties had after the Portuguese star held a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

The five-time Ballon d’Or forward made some strong claims in his interview and also called out the owners, the Glazers family, for running the Premier League giants as marketing club, driven by dividends.

Ronaldo also made it public that he doesn’t have respect for Erik ten Hag because the Dutchman doesn’t respect him.

Reports claimed that the former Ajax manager also had a say in Ronaldo’s situation and voiced out that Manchester United will be stronger without the distractions that come along with the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward.

It became official on Tuesday that Manchester United and and Cristiano Ronaldo reached an agreement to part ways and the club will not pay the remainder of the Portuguese star’s contract and the player is said to have understood the conditions as well.

Bruno Fernandes was asked about his view on Ronaldo’s situation, the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder said: “I don’t feel uncomfortable. I don’t have to pick a side. It was a dream come true to play with Cristiano [at Manchester United] but nothing lasts forever.

“He [Cristiano Ronaldo] didn’t tell me about his decision [regarding Manchester United]. It’s a personal decision and it concerns him and his family. We haven’t talked about it. Everyone here is focused on the goal, national team and the World Cup.”
