According to his agent, Ilhan Gundogan, Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan has not yet reached a decision regarding his future with the club.
Ilkay Gundogan’s contractual situation at Manchester City remains undecided, as confirmed by his agent. With his current deal set to expire imminently, the midfielder’s future is the subject of intense speculation. Gundogan demonstrated his prowess on the pitch during the FA Cup Final against Manchester United, where he netted two goals to help secure City’s victory.
Several top clubs, including Arsenal and Barcelona, have expressed keen interest in acquiring the services of the esteemed City captain. In light of the approaching Champions League final, Gundogan’s agent and father, Ilhan Gundogan, has asserted that all possibilities are being considered, refuting any claims of pre-existing agreements with City or any other club. The focus for Gundogan, at present, remains squarely on the impending final.
Speaking to Fabrizio Romano Ilhan said “Nothing has been agreed with City or any other club”,
“The recent reports are not true. Ilkay is only focused on the final.”
Manchester City is determined to retain their influential captain, but reports suggest that Gundogan is pushing for a minimum two-year contract as he contemplates the decision to either continue his tenure at the Etihad or embark on a fresh challenge elsewhere.
