Graham Potter has opened up on Mason Mount’s situation at Chelsea amid the incoming contract extension.
The Blues star’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer of 2024. He is yet to sign a new deal, while his future at the club is now under doubt amid the latest exit talks.
Potter was asked about Mount’s situation in the pre-match conference prior to the club’s Premier League clash with Southampton.
The manager replied, via Football London: “It’s always complicated, there is always negotiations. It’s best I leave it between Mason and the club, that is the best way for that to be dealt with as far as I’m concerned.”
Potter added he hopes to see the issue resolved quickly as he considers Mount a “fantastic” and “important” player to work with.
